Before I get into this, it’s important that you know that, I’m not writing this to predict dates or declare identities. I’m writing because the world is starting to feel like it’s speeding toward, something. Tensions are rising. Nations are at war. Systems are being shaken to their core. Allegiances are shifting. And it doesn’t matter whether you believe in prophecy or not, there’s an undeniable echo of an ancient story that seems to be playing itself out again.
This little piece is the first in a series of writings exploring the idea that our moment in history rhymes with ancient prophetic texts, particularly in the Book of Revelation. We’re not claiming this is the end of the world. But we are saying that this is a time to pay attention.
🌱 Why Start Here?
We begin not with the Beast himself, but with the one who supports him—the False Prophet.
In the biblical narrative, the False Prophet isn’t a general or a tyrant. He doesn’t kick down doors or command armies. He arrives with a smile. A vision. Signs and wonders. He speaks with smooth words and dazzles the world with what looks like progress, innovation, and even salvation. And through that charm, he points the masses toward the Beast.
Think of him like the frontman of a dangerous ideology. The influencer who makes the unacceptable seem inevitable. The media machine that turns fear into virtue and spectacle into scripture.
And doesn’t that feel familiar?
We live in an age of charisma and confusion. An age where image often outweighs truth, and where power hides behind algorithms and blue checkmarks. This is why we begin here—because the False Prophet, by nature, is not obvious. He hides in plain sight. And you don’t see him until you start to understand what he does.
🧭 The Prophetic Timeline: The Players and the Playbook
In the Book of Revelation, there are three figures who define the climax of the age:
- The Dragon – a symbolic embodiment of Satan, the source of deceptive power.
- The Beast – a charismatic, authoritative figure who rises to dominate the world stage. He demands worship and consolidates global control.
- The False Prophet – the Beast’s herald. Not a soldier, but a sorcerer. Not a conqueror, but a convincer.
The Beast may set the stage, but the False Prophet makes the world believe in it.
Revelation 13 introduces this second beast, the False Prophet, who looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon. That means he seems gentle. Peaceful. Progressive, even. But his words carry the same venom, the same deception, as the dragon who empowered the Beast. His job? To direct the attention of the world, to orchestrate a culture of worship—and this worship is not taking place in churches or temples. This worship happens in the minds, behaviors, and everyday allegiance of a people to a person.
And it doesn’t stop there. The False Prophet initiates systems of control: economic, ideological, and technological. He creates the framework through which the Beast becomes unavoidable. And in doing so, he rewires the culture of the age.
He is the one who makes it make sense to the public.
🕯️ Telling Fire From the Heavens
Revelation tells us this about the False Prophet:
“He performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of the people.” — Revelation 13:13
Pause here. Imagine being a shepherd in the ancient world, watching the stars at night, and suddenly you see something explode in the sky—trailing fire, shaking the earth, splitting the silence. It would be divine. Terrifying. Unquestionably a sign from heaven.
Now fast forward to today.
We livestream rocket launches from glowing screens in our palms. We cheer as fire streaks into the sky, as boosters land backwards with precision. We watch humanity defy gravity, and we call it progress. And in many ways, it is. But what would a prophet from 2,000 years ago call it?
Fire from heaven to earth.
I’m not here to demonize science. But I am here to say: the line between wonder and worship is thinner than we think. And when a figure arrives who can command that kind of wonder—not through tanks or terror, but through inspiration—that’s a different kind of power.
That’s prophetic power.
🧠 Archetypes Over Allegations
This is not about saying Musk is the False Prophet or Trump is the Beast. That kind of thinking reduces prophecy to a tabloid headline.
Instead, I’m asking: what if these ancient symbols were never meant to be one-time figures, but repeating roles? What if each age has its own version—shaped by the language of its time?
In that lens, the False Prophet becomes a recurring figure. Sometimes he wears robes. Sometimes he wears lab coats. Sometimes he wears tailored suits and tweets at midnight. But the energy is always the same: seduction. Persuasion. Making the people fall in love with the very thing that will ultimately enslave them.
The Beast needs the False Prophet to succeed. Just as every empire needs its architect, its poet, its cultural priest who tells the people why this is good, why this is necessary, why this is destiny.
And in every age, millions follow willingly.
🌐 The Spirit of This Age
So here we are—surrounded by the tools the False Prophet would dream of:
- Real-time communication to billions
- Digital “siloes” allowing our biases to be magnified and retweeted.
- Algorithms that allow emotions to be manipulated via algorithms
- Technological marvels that inspire religious awe
- Political theater scripted for attention spans, not truth
We are swimming in signs.
And now, worship is no longer confined to the “sacred spaces”. Those enthralled worship in the boardrooms of global corporations, on stages, on digital platforms, and through brands and branding. What once belonged to altars now belongs to apps.
The question isn’t whether the False Prophet is here. The question is: Would we even recognize him if he was?
✝️ Stay Awake
The Book of Revelation doesn’t end with fear. It ends with a blessing:
“Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.” — Revelation 16:15
To be alive in this time doesn’t mean to panic. But it’s absolutely necessary to be discerning. You need to recognize spectacle for what it is. You have to be willing to the ask hard questions. And you’ll need to look beyond the flash and spectacle to search for the spirit behind it.
So we begin with the False Prophet—not because he is the most obvious, but because he is the most seductive. And if we are to understand the Beast, we must first understand the one who clears the path.
Not with war. Not with policy. But with the applause of the people.
And that should make us pause.
I’m not pointing fingers. I’m listening for echoes. I’m tracing the pattern.
Because the story isn’t over. And the next chapter is already being written.
Let the reader understand. Let the watchman not sleep. Let us keep our eyes open, and our spirits sharp.
Because the age of spectacle is also the age of deception. And wisdom will be the only light that lasts.
